Be sure to visit aquarium in Pula and other fortresses if you like imperial architecture. Roman ruins are nice as well. The top pic is of course the beautiful beaches. My favorite would be around Fazana - long nice promenade. Eat local food - bakeries are good, so are the other products in the supermarkets. Restaurants are of a good quality as well - plenty to choose from and good value for money. Overall good place for a lazy holiday at the beach.

If you are intending to cross the border from Croatia to Slovenia call in advance to let the car rental know. We called the day before and everything went very smoothly.

The arrival was quite easy going, but the departure was not the easiest one. Passport checking was very slow because all the passengers first had to stand in one queue (and it was a long one). We came 2 hours before our flight was leaving and we did not have any spare time.

Eat before the airport as very little refreshment choice in departures.
