About Car Rental in Santorini

Santorini is a volcanic island in the Cyclades group of Greek islands, and it is the most visited of them all. It is situated between the islands of Ios and Anafi. Among its many attractions are the breathtaking views from Oia town, the odd white aubergine (eggplant), the village of Thira, and, of course, the island's very own active volcano. Luxury whitewashed villas built on caldera cliffs with magnificent views of the Aegean Sea, enchanting sunrises and sunsets, and a broad selection of romantic activities are just a few of the reasons why this volcanic island is so popular with couples.

Santorini (Thira) International Airport is situated north of Kamari. In fact, Santorini is one of just a handful of Cyclades islands to have a large international airport. Airlines flying out of here include Ryanair, Olympic Air, and Aegean Airlines as well as seasonal scheduled and charter flights from other airlines throughout the peak season of spring, summer, and fall. Santorini Airport welcomed an impressive 2.3 million domestic and international travelers in 2019. It takes about 10 minutes to get from Santorini (Thira) Airport to downtown Santorini by car.

Renting a vehicle at the airport is a popular way for those traveling to and from Santorini to save time and money. You won't have to depend on public transportation to go around because of the airport's central position. At Santorini Airport, there are 7 car rental companies. These providers include Avance, Avis, Budget, Sixt, Thrifty, Hertz, and Suntime. These companies range from well-known global brands to smaller, regional ones. With so many options at your disposal, it will be much easier to find the right one for you.

Santorini is a great spot to spend time with loved ones or even just a solo getaway. You'll be able to visit the city more comfortably if you rent a vehicle. The city has a number of car rental firms, so don't worry if you didn't get one when you arrived at the airport. As a rule, business travelers prefer to make the most of their time by renting a vehicle from a location near the city's central business district. For those on a tight schedule or just in town for a few days, the city's public transit may not be the best option. There are a number of well-known international car rental firms, but it is also possible to rent a vehicle from a local company.

Rent a car in Greece to venture off the main path and enrich your vacation. The advent of autos with built-in Wi-Fi has made working while driving a whole lot more convenient than it used to be. Top Road Trips in Santorini

Santorini is one of Greece's most popular tourist destinations for good reason. Whitewashed hamlets dotting the caldera's rim, blue-domed churches, and charming shops and tasty eateries are just a few of the island's many drawcards. While you can stay in the main town, a Santorini road trip is a far better way to see the island, despite the fact that local buses are available.

Oia, Santorini's most gorgeous town, is a must-visit. Visit Pitogyros for a traditional gyro and take in the picturesque views that you've only seen on postcards. If you have the time, take a sunset boat excursion to get a bird's-eye view of the island. Alternatively, take an evening wine tour of Santorini, which is famous for its vineyards. Drive a little further to get to the famous caldera of the island. You may stroll around Pyrgos, drive up to Mount Profitis Ilias for a panoramic view, swim at Red Beach or one of the black-sand beaches in Perissa or Kamari, and witness a spectacular sunset from the Akrotiri lighthouse. Fira and Imerovigli, two more towns located around the caldera, should also be on your itinerary. If you like hiking, Skaros Rock is just a hop away.

Tourists to Santorini should buy fuel in the center of the island. The prices at the petrol stations near Oia are much higher than a short distance away. Take the sailboat tour to the volcano. Ours was lots of fun and very educational. I heard people saying that we should avoid the donkeys. I didnt try a donkey ride but the donkeys looked healthy and happy so I think you should take a look and decide for yourself.
