International Airport Treviso A. Canova

International Airport Treviso A. Canova is located in the Veneto region, west of Treviso and north of Venice. This international airport is mainly used by low-cost airlines, such as Ryanair, Wizz Air and Albawings. It's a small airport, but you can fly to up to 45 destination from it. It's therefore a good alternative for the larger Marco Polo Airport, Venice's primary airport. Treviso Airport has one runway and a 3 floors terminal where you can find ATMs and money exchange offices.
The new terminal was officially opened in 200 and was named after Antonio Canova, a famous Italian sculptor. There is a tax-free shop and a small shop selling books, magazines, souvenirs and tobacco. The airport even has three cafés where you can buy hot or cold drinks, delicious toasted rolls, pizza and pasta. Passengers don’t have to worry about parking, because Treviso Airport has arranged this very well. Long term parking is possible at two parking spaces. Parking C and D are just a few minutes away from the terminal, where the fee is about EUR 6.50 per day.

Venice is full of culture, bridges, beautiful views and romance. Exploring the best of this enchanting city and its surroundings by car is very convenient! With its magical alleyways, romantic bridges, and golden domes, Venice seems to literally rise from the waters. This breathtaking city is best known for its Mediterranean lagoon, The Grand Canal, and is filled with medieval history and cafes that haven’t changed since the 18th century. The best way to discover the canal and the tiny waterways is with the gondola. It can’t get any more romantic than that!

In Venice there are many spectacular places to see, but experience the real magic of Venetian moments with a strong coffee in a sunny square, dramatic sunsets from the roof of an ancient church, lunch with good friends in a crowded bar or listening to the slap-slap of the gondolier’s oars on the water. Must-see’s in Venice are St. Mark’s Basilica, the most famous and iconic Ponte di Rialto, Gallerie dell’Accademia and the Bridge of Sighs. If you are looking for a spot of relaxation and to get away from the bulk of the tourists, the Lido is the place to go.

The climate in Venice

The climate in Venice is Mediterranean. The city of water basically floats on a web of canals and is therefore subject to high humidity year round. Winter is cold and summer is often very hot and wet. Despite the hot summer weather, July and August are the peak tourist months and the city becomes almost entirely booked out. But the most pleasant periods are spring and from mid-September.

Italy is amazing and very beautiful. For sure you should visit Venice and Florence. Views and architecture are fascinating. Do not forget to try some 'pasta to go' street food in Venice. And you have to order Florentine stake in Florence. Good shopping in Barberino outlet 30km far from Florence. Be careful with ZTL zones in Florence. Penalties for entering there are quiet big. When you go to Venice it's better to park your car on continent - parking is only 4.5 euro for one day.

- plan 'activities' for children - books, games etc as travelling means some queuing - consider meal times. there will be food at the airport but choice is limited - snacks in your bag are a must - if you are driving in a new country - plan your journey beforehand and have your directions ready - relax as much as possible - it is a holiday afterall.
