The Honolulu Airport was great the TSA system was fast and efficient. Had to walk a long ways to my terminal if the signs were a little better on the shuttle it would have been nicer to know that I could it took a shuttle all the way there. The vendor that we used for lunch it was very good. Over all the airport was very clean.

One thing that impressed us while visiting Honolulu was how friendly everyone was. Often when you visit a touristy area, customer service is a bit lacking because of some of the attitudes weary travelers can get. Not the case here - we were always treated like friends! Airport was clean and when we dropped a boarding pass, discovered it was missing and returned to where we were to find it, one of the custodial staff was just about to throw it away. She was friendly and laughed with us as we retrieved it just as it was ready to drop it in the trash. Food service staff was efficient and friendly as well - moving the lines along as quickly as needed.

We Japanese arrive Honolulu Airport early in the morning, so cannot check into the hotel right away. I usually rent a car and go explore the island for half day til 3 or 4 pm. This is great way to star the first day in Honolulu as we also need to adjust the time difference. I have been using another rental cars company for the last 3, 4 visit to Hawaii, and the experience was OK. This time I wanted to try other option, and to conclude Dollar rental car was better than the other one. For the same cheaper price, we got a better car. Although the staff did push an additional insurance as holiday cars mentioned when booking, and the pickup process was long as I had to wait for 20 min for the car to be ready, and the car was not washed well, and the staff left me before I can tell this...etc I had a great car for the price I paid, so I am very happy. I would probably use the same website and the same rental car company for my next trip to Honolulu.

Very good airport with clear signs for the customers. The queue for the security check was very long and we thought it would take forever but they managed to get us through within 10 minutes. We flew Hawaiian Airlines and travelers have to be aware where they want to fly to before they queue up: US Mainland/ Neighbor Islands or International because it is all in different area's. We loved the way the airport looked: lots of green which gave us the ultimate island feeling. The airport is also very clean and there are plenty of toilets available. All staff were friendly and helpful. As a tourist we felt very welcome here and we would love to come back one day. :)

The Honolulu Airport is a nice open air airport which serves as a good introduction to the climate in Hawaii. It is generally clean. The shops are a good representation of some of Oahu’s iconic souvenir brands. Before traveling there, I would research which rental car companies are physically located inside of the airport parking terminal and book with one of them. They may be slightly more expensive but you will save 2-3hrs of time typically. You will also obviously get better customer service at the more expensive brands. Overall Oahu is a great place to visit.

Great to stay on the beach in Waikiki. Lots of people, but to be expected the week between Christmas and New Years
