Keep a close eye on your bags. Uber is illegal for the moment. Spend some time in wine country and Valpo.

there are some major construction works going on in Santiago Airport, but nothing to worry about. night time arrival was smooth and less busy, airport is not big so easy to find the car rental boots and shuttle bus, just follow the signs once exit from arrival. get a local sim card or rent a car with gps feature.. it will guide you easier to the city. Traffic in Santiago is busy and there are special lanes for buses and taxis (don't drive on those lanes), always respect speed limits (but I noticed Chilean drivers likes speed), there are automated toll ways (make sure your car is equipped with the Toll-device). always park in dedicated parking lots where you'll pay by the minute (arranges from 12pesos up to 50pesos the minute), always remove valuable stuff from your car and make sure your car is locked up all times and parked in a good visibility spot. don't wait till your tank is empty, fill up on the half as on some roads you'll not find petrol station easily. once out of the city driving in Chile is quite relaxing and less traffic, views are amazing and you can stop on the whenever you want to (on safe places of course). enjoy driving and be safe all times.
