Road signage is lacking so you should consider a Sat Nav. The Cultural centre is worthy of a visit. Make sure you go snorkelling at Ile aux Canard. Ensure you get out into the countryside which is very different to the Noumea sprawl. We enjoyed Maison Celine to get a bit of the French Colonial influence. It is very French outside of the main hotels and people are happy to greet you with Bonjour.
