On Guernsey go for smallest car that will suffice. Roads are very narrow and locals all drive scratched cars with cracked wing mirrors. If you can't gauge the width of your car or you meet a bus, skip wagon or 4x4 on said narrow roads, close your eyes and hope for the best, or hope you've taken out insurance enough to cover any scrapes.
