Driving your rental car in Vegas

Car rental in Las Vegas is the most favored way among tourists of exploring the Sin City and its surrounding natural beauties, which are only accessible by rental cars or organized tours, such as Spring Mountains, Grand Canyon, Mount Whitney and Zion National Park. When travelling outside the city with car rental in Las Vegas, beware that the desert surrounded Vegas can be demanding on your rental car, so make sure you rent a car in Las Vegas of solid condition and the insurance covers damages on windscreen, tires, and chassis. When driving in the city, be cautious of not exceeding the speed limit, as it takes no time for the motorcycle cop to catch the speeder. Try to avoid driving after 5 pm on Las Vegas Boulevard (The Strip) or the freeway, as they are guaranteed congested. Instead use Industrial Road which runs parallel West behind NYNY, Monte Carlo, Bellagio Mirage etc or Koval or Paradise that run parallel to the West behind MGM Grand, Ballys, Flamingo etc. Make sure you book a GPS from the company of your car rental in Las Vegas beforehand to guide you through the rush hour chaos.

Parking with car rental

Parking your rental car in Las Vegas is no headache, thanks to the ample parking spaces. Parking in downtown Las Vegas is also quite easy compared to that in many other major cities. There are several hotels that will validate your parking there for up to five hours, such as California Hotel & Casino, Fitzgerald's, Four Queens, Golden Nugget, etc. However be cautious not to break any parking rules, as the parking enforcement of Las Vegas doesn't hesitate to issue a hefty fine. Never leave your rental car for a long period of time in a loading zone, as it is guaranteed to be towed away. When parking in the metered area, make sure you deposit enough amount of change. March is a beautiful time to visit LV. The temps were between 70 and 80 degrees with sunny skies and beautiful sunsets. We enjoyed time at the pool and the last night went to a Righteous Brothers concert (highly recommended). If you like the old slot machines with an actual arm to pull go to the Golden Nugget. The have a room on the second floor full of them

If staying on the strip, check out a monorail pass. The monorail provides easy access all along the strip. You can use the 24 hour pass once you have had your fill of walking. Play the blackjack machines so you don't lose money so quickly and can get some free drinks. Get to the buffets early. The lunch buffets are usually cheaper than the dinner ones. If you go inbetween the breakfast and lunch times, you can enjoy both sets of food.

First and for most take time to talk to some locals that live around the area to find out the best places to visit, eat, drink, shop and gamble. Their tips could save you a lot of money.. When visiting any of the casinos "on the strip" call ahead and ask about casino self parking, because some of them are now charging a fee to park in their garage. But also some are not charging a fee. Visit and drive thru The Red Rock Canyon and before or after visit the Red Rock Casino and their Feast Buffet, the best for the price in Las Vegas. For the Beer Lovers stop at the Yard House in the casino, they have "OVER 200+ BEERS ON TAP Daily" simply amazing!! Visit Boulder Dam and the New Bridge near the dam. On the way to or from Bolder Dam stop at Bolder City for lunch or dinner at one of their great cafes, bars and restaurant.. Also don't forget to visit OLD VEGAS and the Fremont Street Experience, simply amazing!

You don't need to go to all the STRIP CASINOS to have a good time. Try those casinos/hotels/restaurants of-the-beaten-track, like the Boulder Highway, or others a few blocks off the main drag. Slots are looser, food is more reasonable, crowds less hectic.

if you don't want to spend all your time in the Casinos rent a car and see the area. Red Rock Canyon , Hoover Dam, Lake Mead are close and worth the time . Kingman Arizona museum and old route 66 to Oatman is a fun day trip. Sam's Town Casino on Boulder highway is a nice getaway and the $7.99 lunch buffet is very good.

Definitely go to the buffet at Cosmopolitan (Wicked Spoon) or Wynn! We had a blast going dancing at Tao and Marquee - find out who the promoters are to get on the guest lists. We also had an all girls group, so we went to the Kings of Hustler male strip club, and I have never laughed so hard in my life. Great time for people of all ages in our family. The older gals went on a tour of the Hoover Dam and said it was 'riveting'.
