Make sure you have all of the rental details written down or on your phone, including the direct rental office contact phone numbers, the collection address and return address (including satnav postcode) plus the roadside assistance details. When you collect the car, photograph any marks so that you have evidence that damage was pre-existing. Check and confirm that your journey is covered if you are travelling interstate. Don’t use the train if two or more people to city. The food hall is great, use it instead of airline food. Shower facility provided, BYO towel and soap. Use the bus to transfer between domestic and international terminals. There can be long wait to get a cab at busy times so consider alternatives like Uber. Rental car companies with depot outside airport are much cheaper.

Sydney is a beautiful city that are not fully experienced in a day or two. There is so much to se and do in the city and surroundings. Make sure to have time to relax, sit and watch life, and just be. Take a boat or ferry trip, and also visit the beaches outside the city.

Sydneymis a great city with much to see and offer. Our best tour actually was a free tour of,the Rocks area offered each night at 6 pm. We headed out of the city for most of the trip and explored the Jervis Bay area. Beautiful beaches and nice little towns.

Avoid the M5 & tolls if you can. The traffic was horrendous on some days. See the new year's eve fireworks from the harbour if you can. Spectacular. It does get hectic in new year's eve so take public transport. Sydney's beaches are beautiful. Look for the less known and less popular ones because you can still get free parking at these but not at the well known ones and they are not so crowded.

We travelled south of Sydney to a place Jervois Bay (two hour drive on coast). The draw card to this area is the fantastic beaches, the historic town of Berry. Also the Naval Air Museum.

must get out on the harbour. the ferry from circular quay to Manly is fantastic. Must check out darling harbour, especially for a meal and night clubs. Get an Opal card to make travel easier. Wet n Wild is brilliant too.

We picked up the rental car and heading out to scenic areas outside Sydney. Some of the highlights include the coastline around Jervis Bay, Hyams beach, and we found Port Jackson shark egg cases all along the beach at Huskissons. (Maybe best not to take a dip in the water there. There is also a great disused railway at Helensberg that has glow worms in it that you can explore for free. The Navy "Fleet Air Museum" near Nowra is also a fun place because you can do a simulated flight in a helicopter.

A beautiful waterfront city with many good areas to just wander about, particularly around The Rocks, the opera house and botanic gardens. Take a boat trip from Circular Quay. If you're there on a Sunday take advantage of the fact that there is a fare cap for all day travel of just $2.50 (c£1.50) on the public transport opal card, valid on all bus trains and ferries.
