An unorganised mess lacking humanity. I booked a 5 day hire but couldn't collect on the first day (Friday) as my father had been taken by ambulance to hospital. I called 15 minutes after I was supposed to collect and explained the situation, indicating a voucher towards future travel, at least for part of the hire would be appreciated. Hertz replied saying that it wasn't possible and that the reason wasn't good enough. On Monday June 1st 2020 (with two days left) I decided to use the remaining two days of the hire which I'd already paid for. I tried to called five times to check if there was a car there for me. It was clear there was someone there but they were just hanging up so I cycled 5 miles to city airport (which I don't recommend, it's a concrete hellscape). When I got there I explained that I'd like to take the car that I'd paid for and I was told they had no cars and that they couldn't do anything and suggested I call customer services. Called the number and discovered it's not being operated due to Covid-19. Again asked for some kind of reimbursement for the two remaining days seeing s I was at the office and ready to pick up the car. The member of staff was extremely rude. Do not give them your money

Handling of agency booking and their own third-party CDW excess claim cover needs more attention. Requesting the agency's credit-card number (because of prepay) indicates that the data is not being passed correctly.

Great location easily accessed from arrival terminal. Friendly and helpful staff and pick is hassles free assuming to complications from third party applications. And when there is any complications staff were at help to help arrive at satisfactory resolutions.
More direction indication to rental return right from entering the airport vicinity.

It was so handy to get off our flight, and be a few minutes away from Herts car rental, every thing was simple, and I was my first time renting a car. I can say that I will definatly be back to rent a car from Herts next time I travel.

We have a brilliant experience with Holiday Cars. They found us the cheapest deal and there were no hidden charges. We were thrilled and undoubtedly surprised due to some of the reviews we had found about Holiday Cars. We would definitely use them again though. I even spoke with a operator who confirmed that our reservation was going through their systems and i would receive a confirmation number asap. I know that others had said they couldnt get hold of any representatives on the phone but this was not our experience.

An email or some form of communication would be good when you drop a car off out of hours as I still haven't heard from them.

Easy pick-up. Friendly staff. Fast. Allowed me to drop it back in the city instead of the airport at no extra charge.
Ensure you thoroughly check the car - there were marks that were not noted.
