Alexandroupolis Airport is a regional airport in Greece. It is important that travellers understand that it works in different way than international airports. First of all it has opening and closing hours and as a result the rest of the airport shops follow the same schedule. Usually there are 2-3 scheduled flights a day. It is very well located (only 10-15 mins away from the city center). It is very clean and well maintened. Generally it is a small airport and this means that everything is also happening very fast (you will never wait more than 15 mins to pick up your luggages). People and staff are quite friendly but they always go by the book (so if you think that you can beg for an extra kg of luggage....well, think again because it will not happen). All over, the experience is very good.
