Be aware of the parking limits

If you rent a car in San Francisco to travel around, the following parking tips may shed light on parking your rental car. The city is famous for its hills, so make sure you curb the wheels when parking. Turn the wheels to the right when facing downhill, and to the left when facing uphill. There are various colored curbs for parking indication. Green means limited time parking, only 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Do not park your rental car in San Francisco in yellow zones as they are exclusively for vehicles with commercial plates, nor blue zones reserved for disabled parking. When parking downtown, be aware that metered parking spaces limit parking to 30 minutes to 1 hour. Overstaying the limit will result in a fine.


San Francisco features a cool-summer Mediterranean climate, with moist mild winters and dry summers. Under the strong influence of the cool currents of the Pacific Ocean, it has a mild year-round climate with little seasonal temperature variation. The daytime average temperature is around 21°C in August and 14°C in January.
