If you like sports you can watch a baseball or soccer match. You will surely enjoy your time there.

Atlanta, Georgia has a humid subtropical climate, as most of the southeastern United States. That means that they have mild winters, comfortable spring and autumn temperatures, but long, hot and steamy summers. Check out the period you want to visit Atlanta and bring the appropriate clothes. The ATL airport is huge and spread out. Allow for PLENTY of time to get to your rental car. I’d give it an hour if you have checked bags. On the plus side, the airport has great food options. I recommend Garbanzo for Mediterranean food and Wolfgang Puck for delicious salads. Try to avoid rush hour because Atlanta traffic is a nightmare!

Don't count on Atlanta traffic with sports, arts, and other events in progress plus other elements like rain or snow and accidents. Arrive 4 hours earlier than your departure, return your rental, check in,go through security check early with low stress, and have a bite to eat! check your gate on departure board as it might change. Set your phone timer to remind you to go to your respective gate in case you doze off or just forget.

Make sure to rent online before getting to the airport to help avoid delays with the checkout process. Follow instructions as to which cars you can take. Double check that the car you have decide on is in the "car type" range that you paid for. Check the car over for any interior or exterior damage and notify an attendant of it before leaving the lot. Don't smoke in the car, it costs more and is annoying for future renters. Make sure you know where you are going before you leave the lot, airports can me overwhelming and make drivers anxious and rude. Always pay attention to what is happening around you.

Driving to the airport from the north end on Atlanta took longer than expected, but still had a great meal at Jekyll Island restaurant in terminal. I really enjoyed Stone Mountain Park. My traveling companion also highly recommended the Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum.

If you take a late flight, make sure you can make it to the sky train in time, otherwise the trains stop at 1:30 am or you have long waiting periods before the next trains run.

Atlanta is a great town for family and adult entertainment. The Georgia Aquarium, Coca Cola Museum, Civil Rights Museum, and College Football Hall of Fame are all in walking distance around the Centennial Olympic Park. The city has great restaurants, great professional sports, and excellent shopping opportunities. I would recommend Atlanta to anyone looking to get away to a southern destination with urban flair.

Very large and busy airport. Travel options are clearly marked, but a good amount of walking is involved. Elderly travelers should allow extra time in the airport. Secondly, arrive 2 hours early for a domestic flight as the TSA process was very busy.

It's Atlanta airport - read the signs and don't panic. It is actually a very easy process to get from baggage claim to the rental car destinations. The only problem is how fast the cars drive down the street that you enter/exit and through the garage.
