If you're not in a hurry, check out the really great bars and restaurants in the main terminal. Keep an eye out for Blucifer, the big blue horse outside the airport. RTD trains are super easy and very inexpensive! Only 40 min to city centre. 16th Street Mall shuttle can take you the length of the centre for free. Hop on, hop off. Check out the state capitol. It's a beautiful building with loads of history. Red Rocks ampitheatre is a beautiful natural theatre that is a must see!!!! Also check out all the amazing geological sites all over the front range! So beautiful!

Make your way to Golden, CO for some great hiking and beautiful views right outside of Denver. Come back in the evening for some poetry readings, music, or live entertainment at the Mercury Cafe off of California. They have great food, great service, vegan and gluten free options, and are socially aware and active within their communities. If you have time check out any of the several coffee shops on Pearl Street in Boulder, and catch some travelling musicians playing music on the brick open air mall. A fun time for the family or for a solo people watching adventure. Anything you do in Colorado will be worth it. Especially going to Red Rocks in Morrison for a show or just to hike up the steps to say you did it!

Arrive early. Traffic can cause delays getting to the airport. It's a large airport and train ride is involved. Security includes walking by trained dogs, but that allows you to keep your shoes on at the security screening. Bring snacks as the food choices were limited for people with common food allergies.

**** With construction taking place in DIA, you need to be a early. Also look for and watch the directional signs. The pre-check sign is difficult to see if there are large amounts of people in the security area. Remember in DIA, you will always take a tram/train to your concourse. Rental car counters are offsite from the airport so shuttles are provided to and from the airport. Remember to be patient as there are large amounts of travelers passing through DIA!

Suggest that final night in Colorado be spent in Castle Mountain area. The town is lovely. Just park downtown and enjoy walking around through all the shops and restaurants. Only about 25 minutes from the car rental. Staff was very friendly and helpful at Fox. Pay for the gas up front at Fox for final fill up. We found it is less expensive through them.

When in Denver, go to Santiagos for green chile! When in Boulder, go to Chataqua park for nearby hiking. There are sand dunes in southwestern CO. The airport was clean and easy to navigate. However, the security line was pretty outlandish. I understand having to wait and that is not an issue. However, there were far too few TSA agents to keep people from jumping the lines. We had an extra section of line away from the main security that we had to wait in and by the time we had gotten up to the main section of line the rope was taken down and people were skipping the whole back section because nobody was there to transition people from the front line to the back line.

The airport is large and busy but there didn't seem to be long wait times even when going through TSA. They use dogs to help screen people prior to going through TSA which I imagine speeds the process. Also, they don't require you to remove your shoes which makes for a quicker process as well. The tram that takes you to the different terminals it quick and efficient although there is just 2 escalators up that everyone getting off the tram has to take so there was a bit of a jam up there. Overall, it seems to be an efficiently run airport for being so large and busy.

Although Denver Airport is very large, I still find it easy to maneuver around. There is good signage to get you to the right rental car agency shuttle. The drivers are always friendly and helpful. When initially arriving to the airport, I did not need to go to the baggage claim area, so I was confused as to where to go in order to find the shuttles to the rental car companies. I eventually figured out to follow the signs and take the train to the baggage claim area in order to find the shuttles. Once to the baggage claim areas, there were signs pointing towards ground transportation. After exiting the airport doors, it was easy to find the appropriate rental car shuttle stop from the company signs.

Our airport experience was pleasant. The TSA agents were surprisingly friendly and helpful, especially given the government shutdown! The wait was unexpectedly longer than we had anticipated - using the outside check-in saved a tremendous amount of time. A generous tip to that attendant was much appreciated by him and the expedience and avoiding the long wait lines for ticketing was much appreciated by us. Arriving earlier to the airport than you could possibly anticipate needing is a good precaution. Have all paperwork already printed out prior to going to the airport to avoid additional lines or delays. Bring patience and a friendly attitude with you when you travel. It can be hard, but it helps everyone involved!

I have traveled in and out of Denver many times in the past several years and have never had any issues. The airport is large and requires times to get through it, but there is a system that works. I prefer to book with airlines that use Terminal A as I do not have to use the underground rail system to get to my terminal. I also use the outside curb check for my luggage as there is often no wait and the bell caps are always very helpful. The standard back check and check-in can get very busy on high travel days. Denver is a very popular tourist destination and the airport is very often busy. Plan extra time to get through the airport and know that there are some extra steps to get in and out of the airport due to the size of the facility. The airport is also a good 30-40 minutes from the downtown and it is necessary to plan the additional travel time when coming too and departing from Denver. Hope this is helpful.

Plan extra time for the trip to the car rental as a shuttle is needed. Security lines are long and time should be allowed but overall one of the more organized airport security experiences. Definitely check in ahead of time and use the bag drop line if possible. The food court is fairly affordable for an airport. The free water stations have decent water so you can save on buying that. They have plenty of phone charging stations at the gate, which was a relief! If you have extra time, there are plenty of Denver historical kiosks to peruse.

The airport is very clean. I love how it is decorated! It is small compared to the other major hubs like JFK so going through security is a bit faster. People that work there are always friendly. The directions are clear on where to stand to get picked up in the free car rental shuttles by company. The ride to the car rental is about 10 minutes. Great experience!

Denver is not too far away from Colorado Springs where we spent the majority of our time. There is a ton of stuff to do like the Garden of the Gods, Mt. Cheyenne Zoo, Focus on the Family Center, as well as downtown Denver. We had a great time and the entire state is beautiful and somewhere I would like to live some day. Definitely go to Denver and Colorado Springs you won’t regret it and you’ll love being able to just look outside and see all of the beautiful mountains. Advantage did make it easy to get a rental car, but they also gave us an upgrade to an SUV which was great for the whole family and made it easy and fun to get around the area! We will be back to Denver and Colorado Springs and will be using Advantage again. Can’t wait to get back there and enjoy the Colorado views, skies and beautiful scenery as well as the clean air!

If you like trains, take the Cumbres and Toltek Scenic Railroad. If you take the entire trip, a delicious lunch is served at approximately the half-way point on the journey. Other beautiful places include Rocky Mountain National Park. Allow 3 hours or more for this park. The Colorado River trail is a must do. Mesa Verde has probably the most cliff dwellings of anywhere in the country. There are both cliff dwellings and above-ground dwellings. Take a whole day to enjoy this park. It will be worth it!

Denver airport has multiple pick up locations because we were on the last stop it took us over an hour and twenty three minutes to be exact to be picked up to take us to the car rental location. Maybe try sending a van to each location so that the first stop won’t fill the van each time. It is very cold in the winter to stand with children. We called customer service and we were told that we just had to wait. They could not connect us to the local pickup center for an ETA because, “they do not work on that issue, amend we just needed to wait.”

Best travel tips regarding car rental: 1. Know that you may end up with a vehicle you really are not happy with - it just seems to go that way. 2. Pack lightly so as not to be disappointed with the storage space of your vehicle. 3. If you rent a midsize car, be careful when driving in the snow/ice. You will slide. Best travel tips for visiting Denver or the surrounding area: 1. You must visit Denver Biscuit Co. They have the best cinnamon roles ever. And the rest of the food is good too. 2. If you are skiing, consider Winter Park. It is a great mountain and not crowded during the week. 3. Visit Frisco - great town with lots of shops and restaurants.

But once we checked out upstairs, it opened a lot more options. We were fortunate and the baggage claim was in our terminal, so we didn't have to take a train anywhere. Since lunch took a little longer, they ended up unloading our bags for us and setting them aside. Since there was customer service there, they were eager to help us find our luggage. We got a cart. What a vacation winner! Let’s combine purple mountain majesties . . . HolidayCars.com. . . and . . . Budget Rent A Car System, Inc. Planning the perfect trip requires expertise and coordination. What better way to see the purple mountain majesties of the western slope of Colorado than to fly into Denver and rent a car to explore the Front Range Mountains and cities. My first suggestion is to plan well in advance. Use the internet to find the right price . . . this I found at HolidayCars.com. I never expect all things to work smoothly but I do expect professional help from the chosen company should a snafu arise. When I double checked the finalized car reservation, there was indeed a snafu and HolidaysCars.com took care of it . . . quickly and professionally. Thus, my second suggestion; double check information received well ahead of your intended departure date. I was also prepared for long lines at Budget in Denver . . . Denver being a popular place for Colorado adventurers to begin and knowing the reasonable rental rate available from Budget. I was not disappointed; lines were long. However . . . Budget had many associates behind the checkout counter and the line moved quickly. Budget associates were knowledgeable about rental option add-ons but not pushy if they were declined. Being an already harried passenger after a long flight this speed and professional ism was appreciated. So, my third suggestion; be prepared to be treated professionally by personnel in

Also spent time in Loveland/Longmont/Ft. Collins areas as well as around Boulder and had a very pleasant 2 week stay looking for possible locations to relocate.
