Very nice airport. Much larger than I remembered. We went from one end to the other and at first I thought, oh no. But it is a newer, clean, fun airport due to great shops and restaurants and so there is much to look at and the time goes by quickly. Additionally, the signage is good and the people are friendly. I would recommend making sure you have a little extra time in your layover not only to make it from your landing gate to your next one, but also to enjoy some of the food and take at least a few minutes to rock in the rocking chairs just to say you did.

Budget was great right from the start! They were able to locate my reservation right away. I was provided with my desired vehicle and was shown to the airport exit. The car was spotless inside and even had apple car play, a great feature. My car was filled and ready to exit, a quick scan and I was on my way. During my stay, the car was fantastic, no problems whatsoever. Upon returning to the airport, check-out was simple, fast and easy. Great to do business with Budget and I will use again! Check out was a little hectic. We had a full size vehicle and they told us to go out to were the full size vehicles were and take one. The problem was there were no full size vehicles under that sign. An attendant had to go find us one. Thus the rating of 3. The check in process went much better. Clear and visible signs directing us where to go. Process was simple, drive up, park, leave keys in vehicle. Once we exited the vehicle an attendant was there to check us in. Very easy.

Whenever renting a car, I suggest making sure that you carefully look it over for damage when picking it up and promptly reporting any damage to the rental car agency employee. I also suggest looking your rental car agreement over carefully before leaving the rental car agency to make sure the rental car agency hasn't added any pre-paid fuel charges or other charges to your rental agreement without your authorization. I don't recommend pre-paying for fuel at the rental car agency as my experience has shown me they charge approximately 30 cents per gallon more than you can buy gas at most stations for and they charge you for more gallons of fuel than than your rental car's fuel tank can hold. Before returning your rental car to the rental car agency, I recommend filling the fuel tank full and making sure you save a print copy of the receipt from the gas station you went to document that you filled the tank up. When you return the car to the rental car agency, I advise that you take a picture of the dash to document that the fuel tank is full and take pictures of the outside of the car to document that you didn't do any damage to the car to protect yourself from false claims being made against you by the rental car agency. Also make sure you check your rental cars center console, glove box, and under the seats to make sure you haven't left any of your personal possessions behind.

The airport was clean. The people were really helpful. There were plenty of food options near the gate. It's fantastic that there were even healthy food offerings. That's not true in every airport. The wifi was fairly reliable, too.

Do your foot work on pricing and terms. It paid off with this company. Make sure you know your information for car rentals and it will go very smoothly. Picking up at the airport itself may be a bit more convernient, but it was over twice the cost. Make sure you check your check in times to make sure the rental office will be open early. Ask questions, you can't always assume what the rental agent is tell you is correct, i.e. gas prices etc.

Always pre-pay and have a rental car coverage on your personal insurance policy. My experience was super smooth and took just 2-3 minutes. They didn’t push any additional insurance on me. Also, I usually choose not to pre-pay for gas, as there is a Costco gas station a mile or so from Ft Myers airport. Since I am a member gas is always cheap there.

Fort Myers airport is so easy to navigate even for the new traveler. My bags were picked to be searched and I was still through security in less than ten minutes. There were charging ports everywhere to keep your devices charged up for the ride home. The airport was very clean and plenty of room to stretch out for the wait. Dont need to arrive super early at this airport as it is so quick to move through.

The service was excellent. The rental car was as advertised. The car was clean and filled with gas. The whole process at Fort Myers airport was easy both in and out. Filling the tank before returning the car can be done right at the airport road. It’s a bit pricey but convenient. There were many things to do in North Fort Myers Beach for both children and adults. The South side is more quiet and relaxing. We stayed in a rental mid island so we had a little of both.

RSW is an excellent airport. Well organized and laid out. Plenty of seating if you have to wait. Lots of food & coffee choices. Forgot to get gifts for the folks at home? No problem - the airport stores often have nice deals w really good discounts. And speaking of discounts, there’s an excellent name brand discount store park in nearby Estero ( heading south towards Naples), right off I75. And there’s clear signs to the highway as you’re exiting the airport.

Be kind to TSA, they are just doing their job. If traveling to Fort Myers, check out 6 mile slough. And rent kayaks from Marinatown in North Fort Myers for possible manatee and dolphin sightings

When traveling to car rental try to sit up close so you can hop out and get in line otherwise you wait a long time. Try staying away from beach area due to it being so crowded and busy. Definitely try out Pierside restaurant on the water. Great food. Sit inside if you don’t like people smoking while you are eating! Wear lots of sunscreen always! Enjoy brunch at Lani Kia! Watch out for swooping birds tho. They like to grab and go off your plate!!

We looked for rental car prices for several days to find the best deals. E-Z rent was by far the best hands down. Having a comfortable safe rental car was great. We explored Sanibel Island and can't wait to go back. Have breakfast at The Lighthouse Cafe and take a morning walk along the beach for seashell collecting. Rent a kayak at Ding Darling wildlife refuge and explore the amazing mangroves and beautiful birds. Bike rental is so easy and since the island has safe bike paths the entire length of the island It is really fun and easy to get around the island . My favorite treat, The Blue Giraffe restaurant's amazing key lime pie on Sanibel, enjoy!

Bring luggage with wheels. Depending on the amount of luggage, it could be best to leave luggage with a colleague, take shuttle to the car, and then return to pick up and get the luggage. Same with returning car where it's really convenient to drop the heavy luggage at the curb and check it and then drop off the car prior to returning to the airport.

Get to the check in counter asap because the line moves very slowly. My person was friendly though when I got up to her. Bring a cell phone holder with you to mount your phone on. There are mounts that clip on air vents that would be convenient. Some cars don't have a good place to set a phone. FYI, I was given a water bottle as I left, which was awesome, so don't buy a drink in the airport (at least at Ft. Myers).

Holiday made our car rental easy and affordable. They are a third party supplier, but their quality of service was excellent, and their rental was through Avis. The best part was the price. They were much cheaper than any other travel/ car rental site. All the car rentals are riggt across the street on the lower level where baggage claim is. Another nice thing with this airport is Costco is less than 2 miles away, and there is a back road connecting to it, so you don’t need to go on the Hwy. great way to get shopping done before you start your vacation.

Be careful of connecting flights or transfers (less than 1 hour) as these can be problematic. Quick connecting (less than 45 min) flights can cause problems with baggage transfer and missed connecting flights.! When flying with someone make sure you check in the day prior to your flight, this keeps your seats together and can give you seat priority. If you have a connecting flight less than 1 hour, arrange your seats at the front of the plane this will save you 20 minutes of waiting. Remember if it is wintertime flights can run behind due to weather & plane deicing. flights that leave late can arrive very late at night. make all of your arrangements in advance as most businesses are closed, including car rental agency's & some hotels. Keep your ID and boarding pass handy. digging for these at last minute slows everyone down.. Be prepared WRIGHT EVERYTHING DOWN ON PAPER, flight, hotel, car rental info, phone #'s, rental agreements, hotel destination addresses (TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING, ..... NOW IT'S ALL ON YOUR PHONE)

I would highly recommend that you book you reservations early to secure car you want. I would also make sure that you have the right size car. If you have small children that need car seats, make sure that there is enough room for everyone. I purchased the pre paid gas fill up since the price per gallon was much less than the rate of the gas that day. If it’s your first time to the Fort Myers area, make sure that you’re familiar with GPS/WAZE systems. If your coming from a cold weather area, don’t over pack like I did !

Fort Myers airport is smaller and easy to navigate but if busy it does take a little extra time. We actually went from bag check to through security is 15 minutes at Minneapolis, but took 30 minutes in Fort Myers. Be sure to allow an extra 30 minutes to drop off a car at EZ rental because of the need of shuttle to airport. Our flight was on time and had no delays. The airport has places to get food and the employees there are top notch. We had a very pleasant experience on our trip. All in all, we will use the Fort Myers airport again.

1. Know what and avoid having prohibited items with you. 2. Be early and organized. No one likes a nube slowing down the security line. 3. Go to the bathroom before the flight. Airplane bathrooms are nasty. 4. Bring a package of disinfectant wipes and clean the surfaces around your seat. Airplanes are filthy and this will help keep you from getting sick. 5. Pack a sandwich or other non-liquid snack or by a snack at the airport to take on the plane. Airline snacks are poor quality and grossly overpriced.

Be a little flexible with dates and watch sites like Skycanner for best flight deals. Choose your travel companions carefully! Do some research ahead of time then ask the locals when you get there. Spend some time at the State Parks for the best beaches and most peaceful getaways. Consider Airbnb for a cheaper, roomier and more authentic stay. Most importantly, go with the flow because sometimes what goes wrong is the best laugh you'll get down the road.

Great area to visit. The Gulf beaches are magnificent! There are so many things to see and do especially if you enjoy the outdoors. I recommend spending time on the water by either renting a boat or taking a catamaran cruise. Many restaurants in the area. Great happy hours!

My wife and I always pack a single carry-on for our vacation trips. We also forward luggage ahead of our trip via UPS ground to save airline expenses. We suggest checking-in for your flight at the kiosk 3 hours before flight-time. This technique gets us middle-to-front seating on our last 3 trips. Also, getting through "security" early makes our trip less stressful. Remember, to buy all drinks AFTER security or they'll take them from you. Enjoying the trip is a must for a good vacation experience!

We have rented from Fox several times in past years in Florida. We have had very nice attendants help us. When we returned the car we had a very friendly young lady check us out. We had originally paid for gas but decided to fill car up before returning it and was refunded gas amount immediately. We would recommend Fox as they picked us up immediately at station and rental fees have been reasonable compared to other rental agencies. My wife was allowed to drive rental at no extra charge, that was a great perk!

Fort Myers airport is a small, beautiful, well-kept airport. We didn't need a meal, but some of the restaurants looked very interesting. When we arrived, clear signage made it easy to quickly determine where we were to go for our luggage and courtesy vans. The location of most rental car agencies across the street from the airport is convenient. We needed a van to one of the lesser car rental agencies and it was a long walk with our luggage to the pick up area. The phone at the pick-up area did not connect to the agency, but only had a recorded message to get to that location and wait for a van.

If you need to eat for the duration of your flight, eat before you come to airport. You may get a better food for less price. Fort Myers airport is fairly small. Allow 1 hours to get to the gate. Buy water and snacks after you pass thru the security check point. Bring your own head phone set as you can enjoy the in flight entertainment. If your flight is longer than 2-3 hours, ask for an idle seat as it will enable easy in and out from your seat for a short walk around in the plane and going to bathroom.

Fort Myers airport has an impressive Budget rental car operation for such a small airport. It rivaled rental car stations I've seen at much larger airports (NY). The rental cars are conveniently accessed across the street from arrivals, and there were no lines. To make processing even quicker, I would sign up for Budget Fastbreak. Also, on return of car, make sure you return with extra full tank of gas. We arrived with practically a full tank, possibly a bit under depending on how you looked at the meter, and were dinged with $20 gas charge (2 gallons @ $10 each)! I also had to request a receipt from front counter, so we weren't able to dispute the charge with the intake operator.
