Holiday cars provided the best value for a rental car at LAS. We received a diesel VW Jetta - and were very impressed with the MPG. We hardly had to add much gas during the week that we had the vehicle. The only suggestion I would have would be to provide customers with a paper map on how best to exit the city from the rental location. Not everyone is skilled with a smart phone or has one adequately charged. A basic map, or basic directions to get to the interstate would have saved us lots of time and trouble as we were not familiar with the city.

The juxtaposition between Las Vegas and it's magnificent hotel structures that are always busy with fun and the Silence of the Zion National Park canyons, made a big impact on our hearts. Because you are not allowed to drive in the National Park, we only used One tank of gas from Las Vegas to Springdale and back. What a bargain that was! Head to Rosita's in Springdale, the newest Tex Mex place nestled in an apple orchard. Their food is authentic and delicious. You can have alcohol there, beer is on tap and margarita's are their own mix. If you want a real treat, take the Ranger Shuttle Bus 90 minute tour offered in Zion National Park daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Sign up at the Visitor's Center at the first Shuttle stop. We went on a rainy day and it was interesting and fun to see some "secret" spots in the park shared by our Ranger. You really must stop at the Bakery at the Bumbleberry Inn and have a bumble berry pie hole....or 6. They are sweet and delicious. I had to take a dozen home! Las Vegas we will use Holiday Cars again when we fly back. First rate service.

Be prepared to wait for your car, firmly decline the CDW/insurance if you are already covered. Don’t prepay for fuel (you would have to return the car empty, which is hard to do) Look over the car and report the damage on the form before leaving the parking garage (I saw an employee driving the car into the column)

We were able to do self check in at the airport. In the lot we had several cars to choose from. We caused slight damage to the back bumper. When we called in and reported we were treated well and were told the included insurance would cover the damage. We allowed extra time at the airport expecting to have to answer extra questions, but no. They noted the damage and instantly gave us a receipt with no charges. Everyone was very friendly and professional and the car was excellent. We were very happy with our experience.

First of all don't forget to check your rental vehicle for damage. It is easy to forget in the excitement to get to the Strip. However, before you arrive in Las Vegas find out which hotels offer free or low priced parking. We were not on strip so rented vehicle and drove to strip for shows etc... Parking can add a lot to your costs. In Las Vegas on your last day do your shopping in outlet mall near airport. It will save you having to fight traffic before returning your rental.

For families traveling with a car seat, be sure to order a car seat stroller from Amazon or the like. Beats having to lug a heavy car seat around if using it on board. If you can afford it, purchase a lounge pass and relax in a quiet and unhurried environment. It really relieves the stress from being in overcrowded gate areas. Consider Priority Pass although it can be expensive if you don't find discounts. Perhaps the best travel tip I can recommend is applying for TSA Precheck. It is the best $85 investment for travelers. You are vetted ahead of time and once approved, you can avoid removing your shoes and belt, and removing your laptop from your carry on at security check. You also go through an express lane that will cut down time immeasurably. Lastly, avoid renting from Avis. The only way to send a signal to companies who provide dreadfully bad service is to hit them at their profit margin. If they are smart, they will fire the CEO, bring someone new, and immediately work toward improving service and their product. Customers are smart and we do not buy into slick ads. We quickly become loyal to good businesses and avoid bad ones... and take the time to warn other customers about the bad ones. Repeat: Avoid Avis.

Use a car rental company that is located at the McCarron car rental center. Arrive early in Las Vegas so you can easily go to Hoover Dam and return to Las Vegas before noon. Use option to return rental car full of gas as local gas pricing provides best value. Plan to be in front of the Belaggio fountains at a time on the hour as this is when the displays are started. See the free 15 acre natural park in the middle of the Flamingo with beautiful flamingos and Coy fish. Choose between the High Roller (Ferris Wheel) or Stratosphere tower for a great sunset/night view of Las Vegas.

With a car if you travel to resorts off the strip there are a variety of eating places. Also, there are really nice lounges in the casinos the provide great entertainment for free. Some of the shows I paid for on the strip were free off the strip. Las Vegas area is rich with scenery out side the city but not too far of a drive. Red rock Canyon and the Valley of Fire is and easy drive. Also Boulder City and Boulder Dam are about a thirty minute drive from the heart of Las Vegas by car. The most important tip is to find your car in Holiday cars! You can find the best deals on line. Definitely, having a car in Vegas gives you the opportunity of visiting a large number of places in less time. I would advise to look for the parking spots that are free, because some hotels charge 7 bucks or more for an hour. However, there are some places free of charge, where you can park and walk to several places from there. Having a car also gives you the plus of visiting the two outlet malls near Vegas. If you decide to take a taxi to go there, it will be way more expensive!

If on a budget, or just staying overnight, pick a hotel that is not a resort. Hotels don't have a resort tax. 5. Find out if the hotel or resort charges for overnight parking. 6. But also some are not charging a fee. Visit and drive thru The Red Rock Canyon and before or after visit the Red Rock Casino and their Feast Buffet, the best for the price in Las Vegas. For the Beer Lovers stop at the Yard House in the casino, they have "OVER 200+ BEERS ON TAP Daily" simply amazing!! Visit Boulder Dam and the New Bridge near the dam. On the way to or from Bolder Dam stop at Bolder City for lunch or dinner at one of their great cafes, bars and restaurant.. You don't need to go to all the STRIP CASINOS to have a good time. Try those casinos/hotels/restaurants of-the-beaten-track, like the Boulder Highway, or others a few blocks off the main drag. Slots are looser, food is more reasonable, crowds less hectic.

if you don't want to spend all your time in the Casinos rent a car and see the area. Red Rock Canyon , Hoover Dam, Lake Mead are close and worth the time . Kingman Arizona museum and old route 66 to Oatman is a fun day trip. Sam's Town Casino on Boulder highway is a nice getaway and the $7.99 lunch buffet is very good.

Definitely go to the buffet at Cosmopolitan (Wicked Spoon) or Wynn! We had a blast going dancing at Tao and Marquee - find out who the promoters are to get on the guest lists. We also had an all girls group, so we went to the Kings of Hustler male strip club, and I have never laughed so hard in my life. Great time for people of all ages in our family. The older gals went on a tour of the Hoover Dam and said it was 'riveting'.

Las Vegas has a lot to offer depending upon the age group of people and your purpose of visit. Some of the key attractions , I would suggest is : 1. Check out the interiors of the casinos. Each casino is based on a theme and have spent a good deal on it. 2. Shows - Lot of shows for each age group. 3. Bellagio Fountain - A very good fountain outside Bellagio. Must see 4. Casinos lot more ..

You might invest in a disposable cooler so you can keep several bottles of cold water with you at all times. We froze our water the night before our travels and put them the ice chest when we started out. It took all day for the water to completely thaw out, thus we had cold water all day.

The old part of Vegas on Fremont is far more interesting and colorful than the "new" Strip area. However, many of the hotels on the Strip are a must to see, including the Bellagio, Caesar's Palace, and even Circus Circus if you want some old-fashioned entertainment. We ate at an awesome brewery/restaurant called Chicago inside one of the old casinos on Fremont (above the Hugo restaurant). Amazing food and service. The bus is definitely a good way to see the city and very reasonably priced, but don't use it if you're in a hurry. Overall, we had a nice time.
