Love the convenience of Sacramento Airport. On the outskirts of town, easy to access. Terminals are easy to get to. Shuttle bus from car rental lot makes getting your luggage where it needs to go hassle-free. New terminals are looking good. Restaurants are a nice change. Would fly into Sacramento over San Fran any day!!

Be prepared by having your info ready. Roll with the punches, if you are told you will not get the expected vehicle. Be thankful to those who are helping you with your travel. Pack lighter. I seem to always over pack and have a tough time moving about the airport and getting to the car rental place. Drink lots of water instead of coffee or cola. Be patient, sometimes airports are crowded and you just got to keep your cool while waiting in long lines.

I was a little nervous not having ever flown into Sacramento and did not know what to expect. I had not booked with E-Z car before, yet they had the best rate so I gave it a try. I was not disappointed. I walked right up to the counter. Customer service great, cheerful and attentive agent. The car was clean and ready to go. I would definitely go back again.

TSA lines short and agents were pleasant, even during the government shutdown. Bright and open airport with the perfect amount of food choices, centrally located.

Even after you have made your reservations check to see if your rates fall, might save you a little money. Check with your personal insurance to see if your insurance will cover the rental, mine does. Always take a photo of your rental as its a new car for you and if its white you will see plenty of other white cars in the parking lots, just easier to find. Dont leave anything visible in your rental, too many people out there who will try and help themselves to your property. Find out what the state laws are regarding the use of phones while driving, could save you alot of headaches. Check your care carefully for prior damage, most of the time the print out shows prior damage but for peace of mind check the car.

Sacramento airport is a good airport as far airports go. I have been through many airports and Sacramento was clean and appeared to be laid out for good flow. Baggage claim was decent! Rental Car bus pick up was well marked.

Nice airport. Get a cart for luggage. The car rental place is close. Ask for directions. Baggage claim is down big escalators. Bathrooms are plentiful.

The airport has a single shuttle bus that goes to the rental cars. It can fill up fast. Main recommendation is be patient. I think the longest I waited was 15 minutes, even though it's frustrating to see a bus fill and leave without you. Also, Sacramento is a small airport. Don't count on a lot of amenities (ie food if you arrive after 9pm). Luckily at that time it's not crowded and you can get on your way quickly!

Travel tips: -Always stay organized and plan ahead so when you are on vacation everything runs much more smoothly and you can spend more time on playing and less on stressing to figure out your next travel plan. -If traveling internationally, always bring carry-on luggage and pack light. There have been times when luggage is delayed or temporary lost along the way and it seems worth it to pack light and keep it with you! -Bring snacks with you to the airport, you never know if your flight will be delayed or other issues arise., and no one likes a grumpy hangry traveler. -One to two adult beverages before flying on while on the flight can help with traveling jitters, but much more than that you can become a not-so-pleasant neighbor on the flight.

I was coming in form out of town for a funeral . Everyone was very sympathetic and understanding . They had offered directions and a small map in order help me get around in a city that I was not familiar with. I appreciate the understanding and their ability to anticipate my needs . Everything was completed in a timely manner. I would like to thank them for all of their help.

Advantage was simple and hassle to rent from. I went right up to the counter and within five minutes had the keys to my car. Upon returning all I did was pull up and someone was ready to inspect the car and have me sign confirming the return before I even got out of the car. Overall great service and I would rent from them again for sure!!

The security line was quick in the old terminal. No wait to check in. Not many options in old terminal for food and drinks. Shuttle to the rental car is easy to use. There is a gas station near the rental car drop off at airport to help top off before returning. Airport is generally clean.

#1 Tip: Take the time to Google your car rental company's address to make sure it's located at the airport & not off-site. Trying to return a car to an off-site location in a city you don't know is stressful, especially if it's after dark or you're running late. Tip #2: if you're taking a red-eye or evening flight, pay for an extra day's car rental, so you're not stuck sitting at the airport when you could be doing something fun. Tip #3: Before leaving rental lot, take the time to familiarize yourself with the dash control panels. Not fun or safe trying to find how to turn on wipers or defroster when you're doing 70 on the freeway.

Use the kiosks for check-in Use the shuttle. Restrooms on the first level are fairly empty always. There are even gender-neutral bathrooms. Use the elevator instead of the escalator. Enter the shuttle to the security check again from the inside lanes and exit from the outside lanes. There are a lot of restaurant options. And the prices are not too bad. There are hand Sanitizer Steve at the airport.

At Sacramento you no longer have to take a bus to a nearby town to get a rental car. They are all in a convenient location on the airport grounds accessed by a small bus right outside baggage claim. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the process was quick. Upon return to the airport check-in was fast and convenient. The car itself was very well maintained and clean. It even got good gas mileage. Do be aware that even with a pre-paid reservation there will be a small additional charge to take care of at the airport. Also be sure to check with your insurance company to see what coverage you have before making the decision to use the extra insurance from the rental company. All in all my trip to Sacramento was very pleasant. John McFarland

We traveled to Grover Beach, a 4.5 hours drive. Ate at Olive Garden in San Luis Obisbo which was THE BEST! We stayed at Oxford Suites in Pismo Beach. A GREAT place to stay with a wonderful breakfast bar. On the way back to Davis, we ate at Oh Sushi Restaurant in Monterey. They have a VERY nice lunch menu for only 8.99!

Sacramento is central to many destinations and tourist areas. We drove north to Shasta Lake about 150 miles north. While at Shasta Lake we could see Mt. Shasta too. How beautiful! We also went to some great eating spots in old redding and Mt. Shasta city. We curled around to highway 44 then picked up highway 99 and back through Chico CA. to visit friends. We stopped at Sierra Nevada Brewery and took the tour. We put about 450 miles on the car. I fly into Sacramento airport quite a bit and prefer this airport to others in the area because of its ease of use and location.
